Buckwheat Bliss Balls

I have been finding that I crave sweet things at the end of all my meals so I decided to make some easy bliss balls to eat after every meal to satisfy this craving. I had some left over buckwheat that I needed to get rid of so what not a better idea than do two things in one. These are healthy, simple and delicious. They are incredibly low fat, packed with great nutrients and have a heavenly taste.

  • 1 cup buckwheat groats
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • 1.5 cup oats
  • 1 tsp all spice
  • 1 tsp ground flax seed
  • 4 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup plant milk
  • 3 tbsp of chocolate Peanut butter powder (you can also use any nut butter of choice)
  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chunks/ chips

  1. Soak buckwheat in water for about an hour
  2. Drain the buckwheat from the water
  3. In a food processor combine all the ingredients except for the plant milk and vegan chocolate chips
  4. Blend till you get a cookie dough consistency
  5. Heat the plant milk in the microwave for about 20 seconds till boiling
  6. While the milk is hot, add the chocolate chips and stir till you get a thick chocolate sauce. Add a few more chocolate chips if the sauce is runny
  7. Take a small amount of the dough, depending on how big you want the bliss balls. make sure to keep your hands dry to avoid the dough sticking to your hands
  8. Cover the dough in the chocolate sauce or roll them in shredded coconuts or what ever toppings you want to add.
  9. Refrigerate the balls in the fridge for 30min-1 hour
  10. You can eat them as they are, top them on ice cream or even porridges
